Wow, if you’re reading the About page, you’re dedicated. You really want to know who I am, huh? Most people never find this page or don’t care enough to look for it. Which is fine. But you. You’ve found it. And not only that, you’re actually reading it. So let me tell you who I am.
My name is Kimmy (spelled like that and no other funky way) and I work at a bank but that’s not who I am.
I love to write, bake, listen to music, run, read, and watch the Great British Baking Show but that’s not who I am.
I enjoy hanging out with friends and LOVE to make people laugh with funny stories of adventures I have with my best friend but that’s not who I am.
I have epilepsy, constant daily headaches, and Scheuermann’s disease, but that’s not who I am.
I’m introverted but can be extroverted, I volunteer for my local pregnancy center, and I have 5 awesome siblings, but that’s not who I am.
I love studying God’s Word, talking about Jesus with others, and serving my church family, but that’s not who I am.
Forgiven. A child of God. A sinner turned saint. Part of a chosen people. Holy and beloved. Called. Blessed with every spiritual blessing. The list goes on and on.
Let me tell you a true story. Did you know the world was once PERFECT? Ya, I can’t imagine that either. In the beginning, when God first created it, everything was perfect. But because man chose to believe lies, chose self-reliance over God, sin entered the world and everything was ruined. Where we once had full acceptance and fellowship with the God of the universe, we hide now because we are ashamed of our secrets and sin. And God says the punishment for sin is death.
If you read the Bible, you will see that God planned a way for this punishment to be taken care of. It still required a death. And so God sacrificed his only, beloved Son, Jesus. Take a moment and think about that. Mankind owed the debt. WE are the ones that sin, that break the rules, that deserve death! and yet we couldn’t pay our debt and so Jesus did for us. He died a horrible death on a cross for OUR sins so that we can LIVE in him! He died and then ROSE again after defeating even death! This is GOOD NEWS people! The Bible says that to be saved from our sins and eternal death, to once again have fellowship with God, all we have to do is truly believe that Jesus is our Savior and confess him as the Lord over our lives. We cannot earn salvation. Once again- GOOD NEWS! It is a gift from our loving God to those who believe, who he has called his children.
THIS is who I am.
While the world may define themselves in all sorts of ways, my identity is wrapped up in Jesus Christ. His life, death, resurrection, and accession is all that really matters. Him I praise and proclaim.
